Flexible Packaging Manufacturers Association (FASD) is a non-governmental organization established in 2005 and is the only and most representative of the Turkish flexible packaging industry with 88 members from 80 firms. The FASD is an association that represents its members on the national and international platform, maintains the rights of its members, and has agenda-setting and committed role in sectoral developments and regulatory developments. FASD is working on the development of Turkey s flexible packaging sector as a whole and to ensure that the manufacturers in the sector are among the leading suppliers in the global market. As a member of the Flexible Packaging Europe organization, FASD closely follows developments in the sector not only domestically but also globally. Nearly half of the packaging industry consists of flexible packaging. There are 18 FASD member flexible packaging producers on the list of Turkey s 1000 largest industrial establishments. Approximately 4 Billion Dollars of the total flexible packaging sector sales which is approximately 40 Billion TL, are exported to. The target of Turkish flexible packaging sector is to become the main supply and production base of Europe s flexible packaging needs. As of today, the sector is in a position to make its materials that is acceptable by the world markets accept it with its technological infrastructure, human resources, know-how, capacity and implemented management systems. Our flexible packaging producers have been successfully implementing European Union legislation, standards, recycling and hygiene rules for many years.
