Sun Chemical, a member of the DIC Group, is the world s largest printing ink and pigment manufacturer. With an annual sales turnover exceeding $4 billion, Sun Chemical employs more than 11,000 people serving customers worldwide. Its headquarters are in Parsippany, New Jersey, U.S.A. Sun Chemical Turkey manufactures in Izmir and Gebze and has a warehouse in Istanbul. It employs approximately 320 people. Bakim, which produced its first solvent-based ink in a 1,000 m² area with a core team of 10 people in 1987, began to show its true power in the entire packaging sector, especially in water-based inks, from 1990 onwards and moved to its first factory in Çiğli Atatürk Organized Zone in 1993. In 1995, Bakim partnered with the Coates Lorilleux Group, which is at the forefront of ink in the world, and brought the world technology that the packaging sector had been seeking for many years to Turkey, and took the name Bakim Coates Lorilleux. In 2000, the French Total Group, which owned Coates Lorilleux, decided to exit the ink sector and sold all its ink factories worldwide to Sun Chemical. As a result, Sun Chemical acquired the majority of Bakim Coates Lorilleux. In September 2000, it acquired the shares of local shareholders and became a 100% foreign-capital company. In 2004, Sun Chemical acquired some assets of Printaş Printing Inks, which belonged to the ÇBS group, and carried its leadership in liquid inks to the newspaper and offset inks sector. SunChemical, which started to grow over time due to the increasing demand for packaging ink, decided to separate the production of water- and solvent-based inks in its Çiğli factory and move solvent-based inks to its newly established facility in Aliağa. Our new facility, which was built on an area of 50,000 m2 and whose construction began in 2014, began production in the first quarter of 2016. Word format.
